Rodney Man Sentenced In Home Invasion | |||||||||||||||

Mecosta County - Thirty year old John Thomas Stepheny of Rodney was sentenced on Monday March 3rd of 2008 for an incident that took place around 08/27/06 at the home of an ex-girlfriend. The woman said that she came home from work and put on her pajamas and laid on her couch to relax when she heard a noise from behind the couch. She looked behind the couch and saw the top of Stepheny's head. She ran out the front door and called 911. The woman had a personal protection order against Stepheny. He pleaded "nolo contendere" on Jan, 27th of 2008 for one count of third degree attempted home invasion, entering a dwelling with out permission while violating a personal protection order, a two and a half year felony. He was sentenced to 100 days in Jail and given credit for 100 days served. Stephany was given a total fine in the amount of $1620.00. Comment On This Article | |||||||||||||||
