Mecosta County -  On the early morning hours of March 20, 2008, Police received a call from an elderly couple in Morley, on 137th avenue.  The couple stated that their home had been invaded by four young bandits dressed in black and wearing ski masks. Three of the invaders were described as males and one a female.

According to the victims Mike and Teresa Korpal, the invaders tied them up with duck tape, ransacked their home and dumped .22 caliber bullets and a whole box of fish food in the homes fish tank. The bandits also took the couples mini van which was later found abandoned at a vacant house.

When the police arrived on the scene they found an apparent pipe bomb taped to the victims front door with a note saying not to enter or the bomb would explode. The culprits also cut the couples outside phone lines so they could not call out for help. The note was meant for the daughter of the victims who was supposed to come by in the morning and drop off their children for the couple to babysit.  Upon arrival of the bomb squad it was found that the bomb was a fake.
