Retired Big Rapids Fire Fighter Dies In Motorcycle Accident

Big Rapids Twp. - Tuesday, May 13, 2008, Around 1:30PM

 A 64 year old Big Rapids man was killed today when he was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Woodward Ave. near 220th Ave.

 A 40 year old Howard city man turned in front of the motorcycle while making a left hand turn into a privet driveway.

 The motorcycle driver was unable to stop in time and crashed into the truck.

 After being rushed to the Mecosta County medical Center the 64 year old motorcycle driver was pronounced dead.

 The Mecosta County Sheriff's Department is still investigating the accident.

 The Big Rapids fire department, Mecosta County EMS and Big Rapids public safety were also on the scene.

 Update: In a report made by the Big Rapids Pioneer Newspaper
the name of  the man killed on the motorcycle is Harry C. Brennan a former Big Rapids fire fighter and husband of city commissioner Peg Brennan.
 
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 1:00pm at Trinity Fellowship Evangelical Free Church on 220Th and Perry, in Big Rapids
