Evart Man Falls Asleep At The Wheel

 Chippewa Township - On August 16, 2008, around 10:34 PM, Mecosta County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a one car accident on 80th Ave. North of 22 Mile rd.

 Twenty four year old John Gorczewicz from Evart fell asleep while driving his truck.

 According to Deputy John Bongard from the Mecosta County Sheriff's Department, Gorczewicz went off the roadway and struck a tree, his truck rolled onto it's side.

 Gorczewicz was taken to the Mecosta County Medical Center for minor injuries and the Sheriff's Department believes that Alcohol was a cause in the car accident.

 Deputies were assisted by the Mecosta Co EMS and Chippewa Twp fire, and Fork Rescue.  The accident is still under investigation.
