Rogers Heights Family Homeless After Fire

 Rogers Heights MI - Mark and Rita Reed sit in front of a small camper that was lent to them by a member of their church as they talk about what they will do now.

 The electrical fire that destroyed the home where they have been renting for several years is over, it is now time to make decision's about where they and their two young sons Mark Jr. and Josh will live. The fire has left the family with only the clothes they were wearing when they fled from their home on Labor Day morning.

 According to Mark Reed who is an employee at Big Rapids Furniture and a former volunteer fire fighter at the Mecosta Austin Fire Department, "it took only minute's after waking up around 8:00 AM Monday morning and seeing smoke come from the walls of his trailer" Mark said "I ran outside to get the garden hose and within that few seconds my sons room was engulfed in flames.

 Since the fire, the Red Cross has provided a three day stay for the Reed family at a Big Rapids hotel. The Big Rapids Assembly of God Church is currently accepting donations for the Reed family to help find a new home, the family also hopes to keep their two young sons Mark Jr. and Josh in the Morley Stanwood school district.
