***On Tuesday, December 16, 2008, Big Rapids Department of Public Safety Officers responded to a complaint in the 400 block of South Michigan Ave.***According to a police log the father of one of the young men at the residence called the police to report that his son had been assaulted by his roommates.*** When Officers responded to the residence to take a report the young man refused to pursue the case.***Meanwhile, the roommates contacted the police department to give their sides of the story.***The young mans father then showed up from Lansing to move his son out of the residents.***While on scene the father allegedly confronted and threatened the roommates with a metal rod from a desk.***Now officers say everyone denies everything***The case was turned over to the city attorneys office for review.***Big Rapids .biz is your Big Rapids Michigan Online News Magazine.***Read more police logs in the Blotter section of the website.***

 Big Rapids Twp - Mecosta County Sheriff Deputies responded to a car accident on Northland Dr. and Arthur Rd.

 According to Todd Purcell at the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office, the accident was caused by Diane Manzer of Reed City when she was driving southbound on Northland Dr. and could not stop in time, causing her to smash into the back of Suzanne Brown of Canadian lakes.

 Brown was transported to the Mecosta County Medical Center for minor injuries.

 The accident took place on Thursday 09/04/08 around 11:30 AM.
