Dog Gone

Leadership Mecosta stolon fiberglass bulldog was found not far from home.

 Sometime during the weekend of September 27th and 28th, the 40 pound dog was broken from it's cement platform where it sat in front of the Big Rapids Community Library on Michigan and Oak Street.

 According to an email sent out by events at "mecosta county .com"
the bulldog painted by artist Kim Nicolas was found just a block or so from the library by a woman taking her daily walk through Big Rapids on Monday morning.

 According to an article in the Ferris State Torch 36 of these bulldogs were created and there are 20 of them scattered around the city of Big Rapids and placed in front of local businesses.

 The bulldogs have been a community-wide art project created by the Leadership Mecosta County Class of 2008. The project was sponsored by local area Big Rapids businesses and the fiberglass bulldogs are the work of local artist.
