***On Tuesday, December 16, 2008, Big Rapids Department of Public Safety Officers responded to a complaint in the 400 block of South Michigan Ave.***According to a police log the father of one of the young men at the residence called the police to report that his son had been assaulted by his roommates.*** When Officers responded to the residence to take a report the young man refused to pursue the case.***Meanwhile, the roommates contacted the police department to give their sides of the story.***The young mans father then showed up from Lansing to move his son out of the residents.***While on scene the father allegedly confronted and threatened the roommates with a metal rod from a desk.***Now officers say everyone denies everything***The case was turned over to the city attorneys office for review.***Big Rapids .biz is your Big Rapids Michigan Online News Magazine.***Read more police logs in the Blotter section of the website.***

Big Rapids Subway Employee Will Be Charged

 Big Rapids MI - On Oct, 15, 2008, Mecosta County Sheriff Deputies executed an arrest warrant in the 900 block of North Fourth St. in the city of Big Rapids.

 A 23 year old Big Rapids woman was arrested on an embezzlement warrant that pertained to an investigation involving the theft of $1400.00 over a six month period from the Subway restaurant located in the Big Rapids Wal-mart store.

 According to Detective Casey Nemeth the woman arrested in the embezzlement caper of the stolon money is a former employee of the Subway shoppe.

 After being arrested and taken to the Mecosta County Jail in Big Rapids, the woman posted a $500.00 bond. She will be in court on November 10th 2008, for an arraignment.
