At 9:53 a.m. Big Rapids Department of Public Safety Officers reported to the 1100 block of Fuller, where an unknown suspect forced open the door to an apartment. The victim because of medication did not respond very quickly. He did get up and go into the hallway, but did not see anyone. The victim had moved into the apartment on December 31, 2008, and had no idea who it may have been.
At 4:34 p.m. officers respond to a property damage accident that took place on State and Perry Ave. An 18 year old Big Rapids woman was southbound on State street when a 16 year old Morley Boy was trying to change lanes and smashed into her vehicle. The boy was given a ticket for making an unsafe lane change.
At 12:06 a.m. an officer was called to a minor in possession of alcohol case in the 200 block of Baldwin. The investigation led to an 18 year old Grandville man being issued an appearance citation.

Officers report to an accident on State and Spring, a 20 year old Sterling Hgts. man backed his vehicle into a vehicle driven by a 22 year old Big Rapids man on Spring.
At 9:26 p.m. officers investigate the malice destruction of property to a door in the 100 block of south Michigan Avenue, a 22 year old Ferris State University student was arrested for the crime.
At 9:50 p.m. officers respond to a threats complaint in the 300 block of Morrison.
At 12:59 p.m. officers report to the 300 block of Ives, where a 22 year old Ferris State University student from Whitehall smashed his vehicle into a pole. The young man was arrested for drinking and driving.

At 10:22 p.m. officers respond to a harassment report in the 1100 block of Fuller. The 3rd party caller advised that her tenant "a 21 year old Big Rapids woman" was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend who was knocking on her door, and kept walking by. The ex was GOA, and the woman was advised to call back
if he returned. No further calls on this matter.
At 12:50 a.m. an officer came across a one vehicle accident on State and Baldwin. A vehicle driven by a 21 year old Shelby Towmship woman, lost control and bumped over a curb. The woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated and taken to the Mecosta County Jail.
At 1:32 a.m. an officer was called to investigate a minor being in possession of alcohol in the 700 block of Perry Ave. A 20 year old from New Lothrop, MI was cited and released.
At 2:42 a.m. an officer was called to a report of harassment in the 300 block of Morrison. The Officer learned that a former boyfriend shoved the complainant. An investigation continues.
At 2:23 a.m. an officer was called to a noise complaint in the 500 block of Fuller. The resident was issued a warning for loud music.
At 3:02 a.m. An officer stopped a vehicle after a "Be On The Look Out" was put out. The stop led to
a 33 year old Rodney, MI man, being arrested for drinking and driving, he was lodged at the Mecosta County Jail.
At 312 a.m. an officer was called to a report of kids throwing snowballs at Taxi cabs near
south State St. and Woodward Ave. The officer stopped and identified all three kids, but the cab driver did not want to pursue any charges.
At 3:39 a.m. an officer was advised of a possible larceny in the 300 block of south State St. the victim had money stolen but was not certain he wished to pursue charges against the suspect.

At 5:39 p.m. officers report to an accident on State and Pere Marquette. A 17 year old Big Rapids man was turning left from State St. onto Pere Marquette when he smacked into a second vehicle traveling
south on State St. That vehicle was driven by a 54 year old man from Big Rapids. No injuries were reported and the 17 year old boy was cited for failing to yield.
At 7:04 p.m. Noise was reported in the 1100 block of Fuller. Warning was issued.
At 7:50 p.m. officers reported to a Car Deer accident in the 600 block of South Third st. No Damage to Report, a possession tag was issued to the vehicle owner.
At 9:07 p.m. Suspicious Situation was reported in the 300 block of south State st.
