Marijuana And Cocaine Seized In Kalamazoo | |||||||||||||

Kalamazoo MI - On Monday, April 15, 2008, A Kalamazoo drug enforcement team intercepted a package that was being sent to a home in Sturgis, Michigan from Laredo, Texas being delivered by a local distribution company. Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer Jeff Crouse and his dog "Maverick" detected the scent of illegal drugs in the package. Following a search warrant and the opening of the package, sixteen pounds of hydroponic grown marijuana and approximately 1/2 ounce of powdered cocaine was discovered. The drugs were concealed in several layers of plastic wrap, tape and spray foam, to try and hide the drug oder. The next day, an undercover officer posing as a delivery man, delivered the package to a male suspect. The police then obtained a search warrant for that home.
