Attempted Armed Robbery At Family Fare Super Market | |||||||||||||||

Plainfield MI - On August 12, 2008, the Kent County Sheriff's Department responded to the Family Fare Super Market at 5241 Northland Dr. to investigate an attempted armed robbery. After arriving on the scene deputies were informed that a white male, about 6' to 6'2" tall with average build, came into the store and went to the pharmacy counter where he gave the pharmacist a note saying that he had a gun and for the pharmacist to put specific pre scri ption drugs in a bag and hand them over to him. The pharmacist told the man they did not have the drugs he was looking for. The pharmacist then walked away and activated a panic alarm, thats when the suspect fled to the store parking lot where he was seen getting into a black, Lexus SUV. The witness was able to review several makes and models of Lexus SUV's and said it seemed to be a 2003-2005 Lexus 400 series SUV. He described the SUV as having a white license plate with dark letters and some sort of emblem in the center of the plate between the numbers. The suspect was wearing tan cargo shorts, flip flop sandals, a short sleeve yellow polo shirt, sunglasses and a retro San Diego Padres ball cap.
