Kent County Murder Suspect Arrested | |||||||||||||||

Alpine Township - On September 19, 2008, around 4:57 p.m. 25 year old Kris Mathews, was shot to death in his apartment after a brief struggle. According to the Kent County Sheriff's Department, witnesses reported seeing three people fleeing Mathews York Creek apartment after the shooting took place. On September 21, 2008, there was an update in the case when detective's from the sheriff's department assisted the Grand Rapids police special response team and executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Fuller S.E. and arrested a 19 year old Terrance Seymour from Grand Rapids for the murder of Kris Mathews. Seymour was arraigned in the 63rd District Court in Rockford on September 23, 2008, he is being charged with open murder, assault with intent to rob while armed, conspiracy to commit robbery while armed, carrying concealed weapons, felony firearms, and a fourth notice as an habitual offender. Seymour is being held at the Kent County Correctional Facility with-out bond. | |||||||||||||||
