Remus Couple Face Criminal Sexual Conduct Charges

 Mecosta County -  Twenty two year old Charity Ann Mathews and forty two year old William Anthony Sackett of Remus had an off the record settlement conference on April 28. 2008.

 The couple face mutable charges of criminal sexual conduct. According to a court document, Sackett and Mathews had a sexually explicit photo of a four or five year old child on their computer.

 The charges also claim that they gave two young girls alcohol and exposed them to sexual activity.

 The case may be adjourned for further investigation.



Update - On Monday August 04, 2008, Twenty two year old Charity Ann Mathews of Mecosta was sentenced to three months in jail for gross indecency between females, Mathews was placed on probation for five years and given $620.00 in fines.

Update - On Monday August 04, 2008, Forty two year old William Anthony Sackett of Remus was sentenced to eight months in jail for gross indecency between a male and female, Sackett will have to pay a fine total of $3313.21 and serve five years probation.
