On Monday October 10, 2008 in Mecosta County's 49th Circuit Court in Big Rapids, Eugene Paul Cook of Rodney pleaded guilty to 2 charges of first degree criminal sexual conduct "person under 13", the charges stemmed from two separate case files where two victims were involved. In an exchange for Cook's plea, the prosecution agreed to dismiss several other counts of the same crime. On Monday November 10 2008 one month after his guilty plea Eugene Cook was sentenced to 25 to 50 years in prison, he was sent to the Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center in Jackson Michigan.
