49th Circuit Court Of Mecosta County - On Monday October 26, 2009, Nineteen year old Thomas Edward Knofsky Jr. from Charlotte MI, pleaded guilty to 16 of 25 felony criminal charges. In an exchange for Knofsky's plea, the prosecution has agreed to dismiss 10 felony counts from his criminal case file.
According to a court document, Knofsky pleaded guilty to: one count of "safe breaking," seven-counts of "breaking and entering a building with intent," one count of "1st degree home invasion," two counts of "armed robbery," one count of "unlawfully driving away a motor vehicle," two counts of "assault with intent to murder," one count of "witnesses-intimidating-committing crime/threatening to kill or injury," and one count of "conducting criminal enterprises."
In an exchange for Knofsky's plea the prosecution will dismiss six-counts of "weapons firearms," two counts of "conspiracy to homicide - murder first degree - premeditated," and one count of "homicide attempted murder." The prosecution is recommending a 19-year minimum, and a 50-year maximum sentenced for Thomas Edward Knofsky Jr., who is scheduled to be sentenced on December 7, 2009.
According to the court case file, the prosecution will recommend Knofsky's sentences to run concurrent with one another; meaning they will run together.
