49th Circuit Court Of Mecosta County
Forty-nine year old Derrick Deon Howard from Reed city pleaded guilty to one charge of "Weapons - Carrying Concealed" (a pistol). As part of his plea, Howard must give his truthful testimony and if he does, then prosecutors will dismiss nine felony counts, including a charge of attempted murder. Howard has a sentencing date set for January 25, 2009. He was involved in the "Father And Son Shooting Case" that was reported by Big Rapids .biz on Monday November 16, 2009.
Twenty-eight year old Anthony Michael Visconti from Elmira was sentenced to 365-days in jail for a 3rd offense "Operating While Intoxicated" and a "Fleeing Police Officers" charge. Visconti will have to pay fines in the amount of $1046.00, spend 36-months on probation and serve 480-hours of community service. His jail time will be suspended as long as he continues his treatment program.
Twenty-nine year old Danny Augustine Sims from Big Rapids was sentenced to 4-months and 15-days in jail for "Possession of Hydrocodone" and a charge of "Second Degree Retail Fraud." The crime was said to have taken place at "Okkey Grocery." Sims will pay $681.00 in fines, spend 12-months on probation and his jail time will be suspended as long as he successfully completes a treatment program.
Forty-five year old Lyle D. Thebo of Big Rapids was sentenced to 4-months and 15-days in jail for "Forgery." Thebo received 109-days of jail credit and will spend 24-months on probation. The remainder of his jail time will be suspended pending proof of where he is going to stay and he will also have to pay $2,439.50 in fines.
