The man who police believe robbed the Fifth Third Bank in Big Rapids was arraigned on December 21, 2009 around 3:30 p.m.. Forty-one year old Dennis C. Holman from Baldwin MI. is being held on a $500,000.00 bond.
On Thursday December 17, 2009 around 2:30 p.m., Big Rapids Department of Public Safety Officers and Michigan State Police responded to the Big Rapids Fifth Third Bank to investigate a report that the bank had been robbed.
Big Rapids .biz was on the scene and officers were going door to door at local business's in the Downtown area asking store patrons if they saw a white man with a scruffy face, wearing a hooded type sweatshirt.
One of the store patrons reported to Big Rapids .biz that two of their customers, a "man and woman" said that they were pulled over by the police because the man was wearing a hooded type shirt.

The bank robbery took place around 2:15 p.m., The suspect who was described as being white and about six feet tall with about 3-days of beard growth, handed the bank teller a note that implied that he had a gun. The man then left the bank with some cash and was last seen on foot going southbound on Michigan Avenue. |

It seemed that the hoodie that the bank robbery suspect was wearing had what looked liked the "Full Throttle" energy drink logo on it. |

About 24-hours later, and because of tips received from people reading the internet news media and seeing the bank robbery suspect on TV news, the state police arrested forty-one year old Dennis C. Holman from Baldwin for the crime. |
Update - On Monday April 19, 2010, Dennis Carl Holman pleaded guilty to one charge of "Robbery - Armed," charges of "Bank Robbery" were dismissed along with a habitual offender 4th notice. The prosecution is recommending a minimum cap of 72-months and a maximum sentence of 20-years for Holman who might be sentenced on May 17, 2010.
