49th Circuit Court Of Mecosta County
Twenty-three-year-old Dante Maurice-Marshaund Brown from Big Rapids who pleaded guilty to one count of "Forgery" on February 22, 2010, was sentenced to 1 to 14 years in jail and given $378.00 in fines. Brown was accused of writing some "hot" checks at Dominoes Pizza. Brown has several prier convictions of "Bad Check" crimes.
Twenty-four-year-old Larry Mcglothin from Grand Rapids was sentenced to.. 2 to 4 years in jail for "Absconding or Forfeiting Bond." Mcglothin will also have to pay $628.00 in fines.
Twenty-eight-year-old Christopher Lee Williams from the Mecosta County Jail pleaded guilty to an added count of "Attempted Larceny." Per his plea, the prosecutors office is recommending a 13 to 24-month cap on his sentence which might take place on April 27, 2010. A "Habitual Offender" notice and a "Larceny" charge will be dismissed and Williams will owe $15,693.25 in restitution. He will also be given the opportunity to withdraw his plea, if the parole board goes over the recommend sentence. Williams and two of his co-defendants "Adam Williams" and "Mathew Hopkins" were accused of breaking into a storage shed and stealing four ATVs belonging to Lakeside Motor Sports in Mecosta.
Forty-five-year-old Gary Linn Smakal from Lake MI, pleaded guilty to a charge of "Controlled Substance - Possess with Intent to Deliver Cocaine 50 to 449 grams." Prosecutors are recommending an 18-month cap on his minimum and his sentence will run concurrent with a Clair County sentence.
