Twenty-three-year-old Justin Alan Cowling from Remus pleaded guilty to a charge of "Operating While Intoxicated Causing Serious Injury" and an added amended count of "Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing a Miscarriage." For his plea, other charges were dismissed and prosecutors are recommending jail time instead of prison for Cowling who might be sentenced on May 24, 2010. Cowling was said to have been driving a motor vehicle on Arthur Rd. while intoxicated when he was involved in an accident with a woman who was pregnant. According to a court document the accident caused the woman to have a miscarriage or stillbirth.
Thirty-seven-year-old Germaine Moore from Big Rapids was sentenced to one year in jail for "Aggravated Stalking." Mooore will also pay $628.00 in fines and spend 2-years on probation. One count of "First Degree Home Invasion" was dismissed in his case.
Fifty-year-old Marvin John Lintemuth from Rodney was sentenced to 60-days in jail for "Failing to Pay Child Support." Lintemuth was also given $370.00 in fines and will spend 12-months on probation.
