Forty-six-year-old Gary Linn Smakal from Lake MI was sentenced to 365-days in jail for "controlled substance - possess with intent to deliver Cocaine 50-224 grams." Smakal will have to pay $628.00 in fines.
Twenty-eight-year-old Kristopher Bruce Ducat from Stanwood was sentenced to 365-days in jail for "Breaking and Entering - A Building With Intent." ( a storage shed on 30th avenue) Ducat will have to pay $628.00 in fines.
Twenty-five-year-old Jamie Jo Vandenbelt from Sears was sentenced to zero days in jail and ordered to spend 24-months on probation for one count of "Accessory After the Fact to a Felony."
77th District Court - Mecosta County
On April 23, 2010 Kevin Scott Horstman, 17 of Reed City, was arrested for Breaking and Entering a residence in the Village of Barryton. Horstman's arrest stems from an investigation on April 14, 2010. Horstman was arraigned in the 77th District Court and posted a surety bond of $1000.00.
Deputies say the investigation remains open and the Sheriff's Office anticipates the arrest of at least two other suspects.
