(November 3, 1938 - April 10, 2010) Betty L. Near, age 71 of Morley, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Spectrum Health, Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. She was born at home on November 3, 1938 near Grand Rapids the daughter of William and Ada (DeZeeuw) Reickard. Betty is survived by her loving husband, Ken Near of Morley; 2 sons; Bill (Cheryl) Harris of Big Rapids, Brian (Amy) Near of Morley; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister Erma (John) Norman of Newaygo and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by 2 brothers, William Reickard and Albert J. Reickard. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 14th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Philip Bongard officiating. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Boyd Cemetery in Deerfield Township, Mecosta County. Memorial contributions in Betty’s name may be made to Hospice at Spectrum Health the Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. | ||||||||||||
