Marquette MI News - She bit off the tip of a man's nose, cut him with a knife, hit him with a lamp, and left him permanently disfigured, according to U.S. Attorney Donald Davis.

41-year-old Donalyn Lynette Taisto from Baraga Michigan will serve 46-months in federal prison for her deeds, after she was sentenced in a federal court today.

Davis said Taisto pleaded guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury on October 21, 2011. Two charges of alleging assault with a dangerous weapon, were dismissed at her sentencing.

The nose biting assault took place in the early morning hours of April 21, 2011, in Baraga County on the Keweenaw Bay Indian reservation, where Taisto had a disagreement with her victim.

Because the crime happened on the indian reservation, her case was brought to federal court. A US District Court Judge also ordered Taisto to serve three years of supervised release following her prison stay, and to pay a $100 special assessment.
