Berrien County MI News - Police in Berrien Springs have reported that several business break-ins have been reported throughout Berrien County over the past several days.

Police say the suspect(s) have been breaking through doors and windows, by using objects found at or near the buildings themselves. Police are asking residence in Berrien County to take precautions and check around their businesses, and pick up or put-away anything that can be used to break or smash out glass. Police also say not to leave money in cash registers during the night time hours, and make sure safes are locked and secured to the floor or walls.

Cindy Wolkens the owner of Crossroads Family Restaurant told the Niles Daily Star that her business on Barron Lake Road was broken into early on November 15th, when the front door was smashed in, and cash was taken.

Three other businesses: the East Main Diner, the Prime Table, and Ken’s Discount Sales were also broken into according to the Niles Star. These break-ins all took place during the month of November.

Berrien County Sheriff Greg Sanders told the Niles Star that his department has leads on several suspects, and the break-ins are being investigated.
