Eaten County Man Dead After Crashing Car Into Tree

 Hamlin Township - Eaton County Sheriff's deputies responded to a single vehicle crash on Bellevue Hwy. near Tucker Road in Hamlin Township on Saturday at 1:45 p.m.

 Accident investigators determined the Jaguar driven by Paul Joseph DiMeglio, 56, of Eaton Rapids, was traveling east on Bellevue Highway in excess of 100 miles per hour when he left the roadway and crashed into a tree on the south side of the road. His car was split in two.

 DiMeglio was the only occupant of the car and there were no witnesses to the crash.

 DiMeglio, an Eaton Rapids resident, died at the scene.

 The crash remains under investigation.
