Emmett MI News - Car Crashes Into Train On Wattles near F Drive North

 Emmett MI News - Police in Emmett are investigating a car vs train accident that took place today around 4:30 PM.

 According to officers, a car driving Southbound on Wattles Road crashed into an Eastbound Amtrack passenger train as it was coming into the crossing area.

 The impact of the crash disabled the train, and sent the car into a ditch. The car was driven by a man who had two children with him, police say only minor injuries were reported.

 An estimated 133 passengers on board the train, reported no injuries, and either did any of the crew.

 Police said a second engine was brought in to push the train to a safe location were the passengers could safely be transferred to buses.

 The intersection of Wattles near F Drive North was closed off, and police are investigating.
