On January 20, 2012, after an interview and being linked by forensic evidence to the scene, investigators with the Ionia County Sheriff Office arrested Trevor Rosales, 22, of Ionia for the Armed Robbery of Everybody's Market on December 20, 2011.
During the interview, Trevor Rosales confessed to investigators that he robbed Everybody’s Market using a loaded shotgun on December 20, 2011, and that he fled from police pursuit that evening on foot. No vehicle was used in his escape, and no other persons are known to have assisted him at this time.
Trevor Rosales stated his intent in robbing the store was to obtain potpourri/spice incense (often smoked as synthetic marijuana) and money from the store. The suspect further stated to investigators that the shotgun was loaded because he planned to shoot any police officers that tried to arrest him that night, or die in a firefight rather than go to prison.
After his arrest, a search warrant was executed at his apartment in the 600 block of N Johnson Street in the City of Ionia, where Ionia County Sheriff Office investigators recovered the firearm and clothing worn during the robbery, as well as items taken from the store during that crime.
The suspect was arraigned on Monday afternoon by the 64A District Courthouse in Ionia.
Trevor Rosales is currently being held at the Ionia County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
