Kalamazoo Michigan News - Police in Kalamazoo arrest three juvenile suspects believed to have been involved in a purse snatching that took place at Cosmo's Cucina on Vine Street in the city of Kalamazoo.
According to a news release, a report was taken from a woman who works at Cosmo's Cucina restaurant around midnight on December 28th. The woman told police that three teenage boys came into the restaurant near closing time.
One of the boys kept her distracted while another took her purse. She did not notice that her purse was missing until about 15-minutes after they left.
Kalamazoo Police said they set up a perimeter around the area, and launched a K-9 track. By using a clothing description given by the woman, officers spied the juvenile suspects in the 700 block of Academy Street.
After detaining the three for violating the city's curfew ordinance, officers searched the boys, and found the woman's ATM card along with some of her cash and other items.
Police say two of the teens admitted taking money from the stolen purse. The purse, and the rest of it's contents was found dumped in a back yard over on Vine Street.
The purse snatching suspects, ages 13, 15, and 16 were lodged at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home on charges of Larceny in a building, Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property, and violating the city's curfew ordinance.
