Macomb Township MI News - A 58-year-old Macomb Township man was taken to the hospital today to be checked for hypothermia after he almost drowned in the Clinton River while walking his two dogs.
The man told sheriff's deputies that one of his dogs got loose and fell through the ice, and while trying to save his pet he also fell into the water as well.
The Sheriff's Office received several 911 calls reporting that the man was in the water laying on his back while screaming for help in the area of 23-Mile Road west of North Avenue in Macomb Township.
A life ring was used to rescue the man, and he was taken to McLaren Medical Center for treatment. Deputies said both dogs were rescued from the water as well.
