Holland Woman Locked Up After Stabbing Man In Shoulder

 Holland MI News - A 49-year-old Holland woman is locked up in the Ottawa County Jail on a felony assault charge after stabbing a man in the shoulder Tuesday afternoon around 3:00 PM.

 Police say the attack took place at the man's home in the 400 block of Central Avenue when Shelley Covington attacked the man with a knife after a disagreement took place between the two.

 When police arrived on the crime scene, the 48-year-old man was bleeding from his right shoulder. He was taken to the hospital, and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

 Covington was arrested a short time later at another location. She was arraigned today and charged with "Assault With Intent To Do Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder."

 Covington is held on a $50,000.00 cash surety bond. According to jail records, she is also facing felony charges for non payment of child support.
